Bunnicula Strikes Again! I wanted a fun little adventure about a vampire rabbit and you are making me think about stuff I don't want to think about. D: This book was so sad, I was wary about reading the next book in the series! Once again the book is illustrated by Alan Daniel. This work is really good, but for some reason all the pictures are way too dark. In the last book, they were too light, now we have the opposite problem.
Everything is extremely dark and blends together. I don't know if that was an issue with the way he colored the work or if it was a photocopier issue with the publisher or what? But, yeah This book was sad. I don't like to be sad. I have enough sad thoughts running around in my head as it is. When I read, I don't want to be reminded of sad things. Yes, this book had a very sweet ending, that is true, but I don't like having to go through a minefield of sad in order to get to the happy ending!
Seriously wasn't even sure if I was going to read the last book of the series Feb 21, Simon rated it liked it. This book was actually far more entertaining than I had expected.
It's made for the child audience yet I could see teens and young adults who enjoy animals to be swept up into the world of Bunnicula and the wild adventures of Chester, Harold and Howie.
I've been aware of the animated TV show and thought it was a unique kids show design, I haven't watched any episodes in full but I am impressed with the smooth animation style and bright color scheme. The general idea of the show is a bit exaggera This book was actually far more entertaining than I had expected.
The general idea of the show is a bit exaggerated from the story and it has minor and major differences. As for the book, this was a fun, funny adventure and chalk full of wit and humor I never really seen in a children's book before. The way they talk and explain things. I enjoy Chester's personality and Harold's enthusiasm and affection for Toby. Howie's oblivious yet eager personality is especially charming as well.
The characters, both human and animal are sweet and heartwarming, the relationships of many of the characters to each other is really enjoyable to read about. Apr 30, Haley's Book Haven rated it liked it. This was one of my least favorite Bunnicula book for several reasons. The first one was about Chester's fear that vegetables Bunnicula sucked dry would turn into vampires The Celery Stalks at Midnight. The second was the idea of Bunnicula having children as seen at the conclusion of Nighty-Nightmare.
The other reason was this story didn't add anything new to the series. It is another tale of Chester being determined to d This was one of my least favorite Bunnicula book for several reasons. It is another tale of Chester being determined to destroy Bunnicula. On a brighter note, Harold and Howie are still as sweet as ever and there are cameos from Return to Howliday Inn characters which fit well within the context of the story.
I did also find the ending satisfactory. Bunnicula is ill and no one knows why in Bunnicula Strikes Again! Everyone wants to save him except Chester, the cat, who believes the vampire bunny is up to no good. But Chester also gets sick, so the dogs must solve the mystery and try to save their friends from whatever ails them and each other.
As usual, Howe writes a fun, quick read, complete with some life lessons, morals and a jab at pop culture here and there. The illustrations are always a great addition to the Bunnicula stories.
For th Bunnicula is ill and no one knows why in Bunnicula Strikes Again! For those of you unfamiliar with the series, it's a great way to get kids interested in reading if they love animals and semi-spooky fun a la Scooby Doo-like horror. These books are adorable, don't get me wrong The writing and plot is goofy as Bunnicula escapes and the Monroe pets think it is to be reunited with his mother.
This was intended to be the finale of the series and we see some growth in Chester's character after he straight up tries to murder Bunnicula and comes around. These books are cute and I think kids would enjoy them but I don't really recommend adults These books are adorable, don't get me wrong These books are cute and I think kids would enjoy them but I don't really recommend adults revisit them.
I mean, I still think they're fun but I'm questioning why I embarked on this journey to read the entire series. Oct 27, Theresa rated it really liked it Shelves: childrens. Another super fun adventure with Harold, Chester, Howie and Bunnicula. Bunnicula has becomes listless. And it isn't just because of Chester. After a few days of not getting better, they send him to Vet. Chester being hid usual self, he decides Bunnicula is looking for his mother.
Strangely, I think this time Chester is completely right. This story goes along with Chester wanting to destroy Bunnicula, and Harold wanting to save him. But by the end, everyone is trying to save everyone.
It's a super cute ending. I'm still smiling over the animal friendship. May 23, Marsi S. I really liked this book because it was adventures, mysteries, and Bunnicula the vampire rabbit! Chester however, is a big reader and mostly detective. This book also had many genes here is a list of what I think: Fiction, Mystery, and Adventure. I can't wait to start the next book! I'm sure it will be great! This is a very creative Juvenile-level series which holds a place in my heart.
It centers around a vampire bunny named Bunnicula, who sucks the juice out of vegetables. The main characters are the Monroe family and their pets, and the series is told from the perspective of Harold, the family dog. The premise of the first book is Chester, the family cat, trying to convince Harold that Bunnicula is a vampire and that they must save their humans from him.
May 20, Donna rated it it was amazing Shelves: children-s. Another cute installment from Harold the dog to the author for editing and publication. This story begins and ends with a nod toward the relationship of Sherlock Holmes and Professor Moriarty whereas a long time rivalry is resolved between two of the main characters. And, it follows up on the theme in book 5 of going back to one's place of birth.
As usual, Chester is completely paranoid and thinks Bunnicula is up to his old tricks. Alan Daniel. Product Details. Raves and Reviews. Awards and Honors. ABA Pick of the Lists. Resources and Downloads.

For example, the animals watch as the Monroe brothers fight: "Pete retorted with a backhanded insult.
Toby lobbed a high string of colorful adjectives capped by a perfectly executed oxymoron Ages I really love your Bunnicula books they are sad, cute, and very entertaining.
